I'm interested in teaching piano lessons online and I thought this would be the perfect software to start with. I'm aware that in order for the MIDI connection to work the other party must also have a MIDI keyboard and the Internet MIDI software.
However, if the other party does not have a MIDI keyboard, is it necessary to download the software in order to receive the information that I am sending through the Internet MIDI software?

Yes, the client/software needs to be installed on both sides, so that the content created is delivered and played on the other side. Alternatively, you might want to export the content to a known audio/video format. This is easier since there are many audio/video players that can play all major audio/video files.
